JUNIOR LEAGUE

The Junior division takes 13+14 year old boys and girls several major steps towards full-out baseball.

Games are 7 innings long, the base pads are 80 feet, leading off is permitted, pitchers can be called for balks.

There are three outs in each inning and, in the tradition of Little League, every player is guaranteed "plate time" as the entire team comes to bat in order. A 10 run spread after 5 complete innings invokes the mercy rule.

While defensive positions are rotated to ensure fair play, individual players are given opportunities to develop within specific positions.

Junior League

Pinecrest Little League interlocks with teams from District 2 (Carlingwood/Frank Ryan, East Nepean, Kanata, West Carleton/Arnprior and Mississippi) to provide a better level of competition.

There are two games and one practice each week. Games are played Mondays through Thursdays. The schedule allows all teams to meet an equal number of times. Games start at 6.00pm.

Every player requires a glove and a helmet. Metal cleats may be worn.

All players receive a team uniform (refundable deposit required) while the baseball cap, socks and the "Property of.." t-shirt are the player's to keep.

All Junior games are competitive. Pitch counts and scores are kept. There is a playoff week in late June to determine the House League Champion team.

Summer baseball tryouts are held in June with the competitive season beginning the first week of July.
