Pinecrest wins 2 City Championships
August 2009
Pinecrest Little League's Minor A and Senior teams both won their City Championsips.
The Minor team won the B-side Championsip with a 11-9 win over Kanata Little League.
The coaching staff Chris Jelley, Shail Paliwal and Craig Alain all expressed their pride in their hard playing team.
To cap a 19-2 season, the Pinecrest Senior team under Coach Ryan Martensen defeated Orleans 3-1 to win the A-side championship.
The team's uniqueness included two girl players and three members of the Martensen family: Coach: Ryan Martensen; Assistant Coach: James Martensen; Pitcher & Short Stop: Hannah Martensen.

Pinecrest Hosts Provincial Tournament
July 2009
Pinecrest Little League was proud to host the 2009 Big League Provincial Championship Tournament.
Enthusiastic volunteers and a field crew from the city, made for a well run event.
District 6 (East Ottawa Cobras) went on the Canadian tournament in Windsor.

Minors are 2008 District Champions
July 2008
Pinecrest Little League's Minor A team went undefeated in this year's Tournament to become District Champions.
The team played the Provincial Tournament in Perth, unfortunately being eliminated prior to the championship game.

2008 National Big League Tournament in Kanata
July 2008
Pinecrest's John Majic coached the District 2 host team, the Crusaders, to the championship game on Wednesday July 23rd, 2008. The score: B.C. 9 - Crusaders 1.
The Crusders lost only two games for the entire tournament, both to B.C. who were represented by the Fraser Valley Chiefs.
B.C. represented Canada at the Big League World Series in Easely, South Carolina, being eliminated in the round robin play with a record of 1 win and 2 losses.

Pinecrest Players feature big at 2008 Ontario Summer Games
August 2008
Pinecrest Little League had 4 representatives on the winning Bantam Girls Baseball team in the 2008 Ontario Summer Games - more than any other Little League.
Hannah Martensen, Fiona Melko, Jessica Nelson and Peggy Soria joined 10 other girls to form the National Capitals.
The team went 5 and 0 in round robin play before winning the championship game by one run in the bottom of the last inning.

Pinecrest Players in the News
June 2008
Pinecrest alumnus and right-handed pitcher T.J.Burton is going to the Bejing Olympics with Team Canada.
Canada qualified with an upset win over unbeaten Korea (4-3) at the last qualifying tournament prior to the games in August.
T.J. is currently playing in the Cleveland Indian farm team system. He is joined on Team Canada by another Ottawa notable, Mike Kusiewicz.
May 2008
All Star player Hannah Martensen spent one week of her winter playing baseball in Hong Kong.
Hannah (a Pinecrest player since she was 6 years old) was selected to play on the North American North Stars - a womens senior baseball team - in an international tournament featuring teams from Korea, Australia, Japan and more.
Both the Citizen and Nepean This Week have featured Hannah in recent editions.
